" Have been doing all kinds of discounts and promotions trying to drum up business because of the traveled downturn and during this recession so hotels dot com did a survey. And found that and a hotel room rates are down 17% for the first half of the year compared to 2008. So that that works out to an average of 115 dollars a night. On for a room rates across the US and that's that's down from about 140 last year round. That's that's pretty significant and then does this. Did they look ahead to do -- aren't what's going on in this fall than -- because that's. Now let's yesterday's news that just happened we wanna know if we can now I think cartels are continuing to offer these big discounts and an interesting thing about the hotels dot com indexes of when you go to a hotel remote look on the door there's -- posted rate but chances are you didn't actually paid that so this survey looks at the actual. Rates set people paid the so called rack rate. And it it's conducted its continuing to to be down -- and I suspect we'll continue that way in the fall. Yes some places Las Vegas which has been her had hard by. Housing downturn has also been been struggling so it's a -- down by 30% they're practically given them away. There and a New York City the rates are also down about 30%. But conversely in New York you're still even if -- to gonna pay an average of 200 bucks a night for hotel there -- sounds like they're they're still. Among the most expensive if not the most expensive and they think their number one on the list and also on Hawaii's on the list and Wyoming's on the list of all. All places because there's this ski industry."
" OK yeah I I I got an by the country's eyes tired from -- Wyoming and service luxury. Area I still think you know tumbleweed and cowboys. But apparently other people I was -- and -- beyond Iran hard at this stage apparently hinted that that that the cheapest rates we already mentioned a Las Vegas has one of the cheapest hotel rates in the country and other places include Idaho and Kansas. -- In the market vacationing should be -- some greater saint M aviation plant a little road trip to Kansas. Now maybe you what they have big biggest ball of twine in the world's. We're gonna get letters yeah. The lovely Kansas it's true. I didn't know about the big ball of -- and getting -- mixed up with someplace else and -- you know North Dakota with their giant fiberglass. Animals. And other tourist drop in -- you should be our travel -- and you know all these -- worse things yes amounts from many summer trips where we spent several hours in the car and are pretty desperate for interesting places and the other unknown land. Apparently yes and no -- junkie and an Italian men well.
