" Well Adrian we're seeing mounting evidence that the worst of the recession is behind us there are glimmers of hope and manufacturing consumer confidence and even housing. But the labor market remains weak economists see a seventh month in a -- more than 500000. Jobs lost. When the government issues its may employment report this week. TD bank chief economist John -- says the pace of job losses will decline when it does it'll happen very slowly."
" I think this job losses will be coming down. But even if we have job losses in the 400000 -- that's still extraordinarily high."
" And it will take even longer for the unemployment rate to top out."
" The unemployment rate is likely go up for a good portion of the rest of this year and double digits is almost a foregone conclusion that this."
" The jobless rate is expected to exceed 9% in May stood at eight point 9% in April. Also this week we'll see updates on manufacturing and services from the institute for supply management. Auto sales figures for May and an April report on consumer spend. Adrian."

The one featuring cute little dancing -- all say you must stop this preakness with a -- it's got any summer reading plans. For many of you the answer is not. Book's sales are down John Wordock advocates are sitting in their comfy chairs and they have the story."
" So have you bought any books lately you know books that cost money 3040 dollars. Apparently some of you decide to skip the books and go right to the movies. Joining us to talk more about this is our consumer race and -- Would you read the frequently writes I'm pretty parades this reader gas. The back of cereal boxes and newscasts. News magazines seventeen magazine especially at the Jonas Brothers are on the cover so what's going on what book sales these days and I understand things are pretty crotchety."
" The other recession is having an impact globally on book sales. Right now they're saying and downturn right and in 2008 they had a number of books that were actually purchased fell a little bit. And now in 2009 -- the trend -- because they heard recently from borders and they said that sales during the first quarter fell 12% so we've got. These these down sales trends continuing into this year. I guess consumers are cutting back can one thing they're doing without. Books write books and then and most of the categories have seen a decline the adult fiction and nonfiction category has been struggling lately a though they are awaiting a book this fall the September from Dan Brown he wrote to. He -- what did he write that. Don't ask Maine had a way with Tom and did they made a movie Tom Hanks. Allow anyway I'll think of it but -- he he he uses his books are always best sellers and -- hoping that when his next book comes out in September than that wolf. Help boost sales in that category sales of religious books which traditionally have been strong sellers -- publishers those have been down lately. And the publishers in that category say they're just haven't been any. Books that must have books in that category. Juvenile books the ones for teenagers so immature you think are. There's that hasn't been Harry Potter around for a couple of years although the twilight series for girls about the vampire they made that and a movie recently. That's been very popular so sort of in keeping that category afloat so the one category that is doing well is. Textbooks right firm and any kind of grade level kindergarten elementary high school college. Though it's possible that category could be affected to schools really cut back on their budgets and things like that that category could be affected --"
